Alaska Simulator at Austrian Research Night

Seeing grizzly bears on your Alaska journey not only requires luck, but also good planning.

Under the motto "Well planned is half done" the Alaska team (Jakob Pinggera, Thomas Schrettl, Barbara Weber and Stefan Zugal) presented the Alaska simulator at the Austrian Research Night. Successful planning does not necessarily mean that every single detail has to be predefined in advance, but to efficiently deal with uncertainty.

Between 16:47 and midnight visitors could analyze and test their own planning behavior by planning a journey with the Alaska simulator. Participants could choose between three different journeys with different levels of difficulty: Tyrol (simple), California (middle) and Alaska (difficult). During the evening more than 300 visitors between 7 and 70 conducted 130 journeys (mostly in teams of 2 or 3 persons).
